The investment is critical to the NSW government’s commitment to sustainability, healthy lifestyles and affordable housing.
Mr Ward said the funding for Sydney Water will ensure high quality, reliable water and wastewater services continue to support population growth in the area.
“Major projects will include expansion of critical water mains in Gerringong and increasing capacity at Calderwood,” he said.
“I am very pleased that the NSW government is also delivering an investment of over $2.5 million on water and wastewater services in the Shellharbour electorate, which is critical to the government’s commitment to sustainability, healthy lifestyles and affordable housing.

“Much of this expenditure will be on stage one of the new wastewater pumping station and pressure main at Shell Cove which is currently in construction to service development in the Boat Harbour precinct to allow the construction of an additional 1,222 homes.
“In addition, new wastewater infrastructure is in planning to further service the West Dapto Urban Release Area to allow construction of 19,400 new homes. This project is due to be completed by December 2018.
“This ongoing investment in essential infrastructure will provide an increased capacity to allow the construction of new homes in the area and ensure the ongoing reliability of services.
“This is all happening while at the same time Sydney Water customers have received a reduction in their water bills of around $100 this year and these reductions to customers’ bills will continue over this four year cycle to 2020,” Mr Ward said.
