The under 11Bs were certainly the shining light of the weekend for Jamberoo Cricket Club, as they gained their first victory of the 2017/18 season by two wickets against Kookas Blue at Jock Brown Oval.

The Bulls restricted the hosts to a respective total of 7/88 thanks to a brilliant effort in the field. William Thomson led the attack with impressive figures of 3/4 from just three overs. Cooper Anderson 1/3, Max Palk 1/10 and Jordan Poole 1/11 all provided solid bowling performances.
Jamberoo finished the 20 overs at 8/111 as Jordan Poole continued his excellent season with the bat and top scored with a score of 10, while Delmyr Gee Crockford 7 and man of the match William Thomson 6 helped their side gain their first victory of the season.
In third grade Jamberoo succumbed to their second loss of 2017/18 season as the Kookas defeated the Bulls by 153 runs at Keith Irvine Oval on Saturday.
Jamberoo applied a lot of pressure on the visitors who were bowled out for 212 in 46.3 overs. Despite their great efforts in the field Jamberoo were bowled out for a low score of 59 in just 16.5 overs.
Nick Bruce was best on ground for Jamberoo with figures of 3/17 and producing a top score of 15 with the bat. Steve Bruce 3/46, Josh Dun 3/64 and Ryan Tritton 1/11 also stood out for the home side.
Jamberoo fourth grade couldn’t maintain their position inside the top four despite being gutsy in their seven wicket loss to Oak Flats at Shane Lee Field.
The visitors compiled a competitive total of 129 as James Bullivant 34, Zac Heffernan 24 and life member Greg Harris 21 led the way with the bat.
Oak Flats had their work cut out early and were 3/33 after just 9 overs. Zac Heffernan 2/23 and James Bullivant 1/24 proved to be an excellent bowling partnership before Oak Flats successfully chased down their opponents total and finished the game at 3/131.
The under 14Bs Jamberoo/Albion Park combined side showed promising signs during their 52 run loss to second placed Corrimal at Towradgi Park on Saturday.
The hosts finished their innings on 4/114 as Jett Presland 1/3, Bailey Miller 1/6, Zac Brown 1/7 and Jack McGuire 1/25 were the pick of the bowlers for Jamberoo/Albion Park.
Excellent fielding and accurate bowling from Corrimal propelled the visitors to complete their innings at 7/62. Thomas Barrett was top run scorer with great score of 20.
