The Milk and Honey cafe has been rewarded for its continuous support of sporting clubs throughout the Illawarra when the owners were presented a signed and framed Holden Cup Under 20s St George Illawarra Dragons jersey on Tuesday.

Owners Mick Dignam and Liz Lewis were rewarded for their support and encouragement to the under 20s squad throughout 2017.
“It’s great to be presented the jersey and it really does mean a lot to us,” Mick Dignam said.
“We are a community cafe, we have a lot of people from the area working here and if you can help people out then it does make you feel really proud.”
The support from the Milk and Honey cafe endorses the St George Illawarra’s education, training and welfare program, which aims to supply part time work to a number of the players while perusing their tertiary education programs.
“What’s excellent about this program is that it encourages players to find employment and study, which is very important because they’re learning a lot about public interaction, workplace ethics and their essentially working three jobs, which is a terrific effort,” Mr Dignam said.
St George Illawarra under 20s players Dylan Morris, 19, and Mat Sheppard, 20, who are both studying Certificate three and four in Fitness and a Bachelor of Exercise Science respectively have both enjoyed their time working at Milk and Honey cafe.
“The support of Mick and Liz had been tremendous,” Sheppard said.
“They have allowed me to work around full-time university; they come to a lot of our games and this year they have supported us on and off the field.”
Kiama Knights junior and former SG Ball player Dylan Morris believes the program can enhance the camaraderie of the team.
“It’s great to work with a few players from our squad because it makes the club and the relationship between players stronger,” Morris said.
