The most active arm of the 60-man alliance is the welfare group. They make up to 40 calls each month.
“Their focus is making sure the guys are well and happy, some of them are going through family issues and bereavement,” Ian said.
Some of men have picked up skills from seasoned tradesmen. For eight years they’ve been helping the community.
”People come off the street needing a repair to a chair or table, and we support them.”
This week is Men’s Shed Week, but it’s business as usual for the Kiama boys. They’re preparing toys for their Christmas stall.
