The day is part of the state wide RFS ‘Get Ready Weekend’ which aims to prepare people for the upcoming bushfire danger season starting on October 1.
On display at Jamberoo will be plenty of RFS trucks and equipment including the latest addition to the Jamberoo fleet, aviation and support equipment as well as vehicles and personnel from Police, Ambulance and Fire and Rescue.
“As there is not an emergency service expo in Kiama this year, we thought we would invite the other local emergency services to our event, so the community would get a chance go see as many resources as possible,” event organiser Hannah McInerney said.
As well as the trucks and equipment, there will be plenty of activities for the kids, Smokey the RFS koala mascot will be making an appearance, a sausage sizzle and of course plenty of information from all the services present on the day.
The long-range forecast is pointing toward a hot, dry fire season ahead, so if you need any information on how to prepare yourself or your property for fire, have any questions or just want a fun day out head over to Jamberoo.
Details: Kevin Walsh Oval, Jamberoo on Sunday, September 17 from 10.00am – 2.00pm.
