From a new record number of nominations, the report features 40 of the most innovative institutions as they lead the way in efforts to best prepare students for the future.
These schools have put forward innovative and creative practices in their curriculum that improved teaching and learning outcomes, while engaging students throughout their learning journey.
Kiama Public School principal Michael Honeywood said the recognition was incredibly rewarding.
“It gives us a pat on the back for what we know we are already doing,” he said.
“We probably don’t reward ourselves enough for the wonderful things we do.
“It’s about giving freedom of choice for kids to learn and the choices make all the difference.
“We’ve got kids who love coming to school, they get off the bus and run into class because they know they’ve got 3D printing or the farm – all these things to look forward to in the day.”
Editor of The Educator, Tim Garratt, said the quantity of this year’s entries made selecting the list of schools an arduous task.
“Through a difficult assessment process, The Educator has chosen 40 schools that stood out among the rest with their innovation and outstanding work that ultimately improved learning outcomes and prepared students to face tomorrow’s world,” he said.
