Best thing about your career: For me, it’s when somebody buys a painting and it changes their house, so when they get home they feel happy about going home and bringing a smile to people’s faces with my work.
Home town: Bits and pieces, growing up I went to 13 schools all over the world. The longest I had been anywhere was Sydney, now Kiama is the longest.
I arm myself against the cold with a good pair of thongs and a shirt.
What do you love most about Kiama: Well, I think it’s the walks and the beaches. I’m a beach person and I always go to Kendalls for a swim. Even throughout winter this year because it’s been so nice. I like to arm myself against the cold with a good pair of thongs and a shirt.
Favourite past time: Good question, I think it’s spending time with my kids – that’s kind of it.
I’ve got grandkids, they come around and I paint with them. I did a gigantic painting with one of my grandkids, Eva, who is five. It’s one for the biggest ones I’ve ever done, it gave me so much joy.
Favourite holiday destination: Sunshine Coast.
Fun fact about you: My mother is blind, so my biggest kick is helping people out in the street, like a little old lady with her shopping trolley, which I call ‘the good deed’. I always speak to blind people, as sighted people, we don’t know how to approach them.
