Ms Curnow and her friend Di Thompson, will hold a stall at the Kiama Seaside Markets in November, selling second-hand jewellery and accessories in a bid to raise money for a number of Red Cross projects.
‘‘We’ve been collecting pre-loved jewellery from members of the community over the past couple of weeks,’’ Ms Curnow said. ‘‘We’re expecting to raise about $1000.’’
She said she’s happy with donations so far. ‘‘We’re going well, a couple of weeks ago I was given a whole bag of jewellery by a lady from Albion Park.
‘‘All the stuff we’ve been given so far is in excellent condition, it’s been really well looked after.’’
The money raised will go towards Red Cross projects like the Syrian Crisis Appeal, Need Never Sleeps, Save-A-Mate youth suicide prevention and Telecross calls to the elderly, as well as towards the emergency services.
The Kiama Seaside Markets are at Black Beach on Sunday, November 18.
