The Cole Porter masterpiece opened at the Shellharbour theatre on August 19 and runs until Friday, September 2.
The story centres on the conflict on and off the stage between the leading lady, Lilli Vanessi, played by Kathryn Edmonds, and director of the show-within-a-show, Fred Graham, played by Steve Paterson.
Having directed Evita for Roo last year, Veronica Dzelde is lending her talents to yet another but very different musical. “When we moved to Kiama I was very pleased when I found Roo Theatre. Community theatre is a magic process that brings people from all ages and backgrounds together,’’ she said.
