The event took place on Sunday along the scenic coastal path between Gerringong and Kiama.
More than 600 athletes tested their grit across three distances (15km, 10km and 2.5km).
Goulburn’s Olivia Stutchbury, 19, took line honours in the women’s category following a tough battle against Elisha Bell of Vincentia.
Dessaix-Chin held off fast-finishing Wollongong resident James Davy to finish in 51.22.40.
Davy settled for second place (53.25) ahead of Sydney’s Jay Kennedy.
“I had run the course before, so I knew it is a tough course, but I have never run it that hard before,” Dessaix-Chin said. “James really pushed me today.’’
The event had options for various age groups and abilities, including an All Schools Cup awarded to Gerringong Public. Participants crossed the lagoon at Werri Beach and passed by the Kiama Blowhole ahead of the finish line at Black Beach reserve.
