Staff members from Community Services, Housing NSW and ADHC (Ageing and Disability Home Care), which are all part of the FACS Nowra office threw their efforts behind the Hub, a drop in centre for individuals, families and couples who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The team provided all the goods for the barbecue and hoped to raise a significant amount for the Hub.
Spokesperson Amanda Jamieson said FACS staff saw it as a way of supporting the Hub and the work it does.
“We are fully aware of how much work the Hub does and how much ongoing support it requires,” she said.
“We will donate all our takings from the barbecue and the Hub can put it towards tents, swags, sleeping bags or other items they require.
“They always need food and toiletry items etc.”
The Shoalhaven Homeless Hub is located at the rear entrance of 27 Junction Street, Nowra.
