About 10.30am, SharkSmart - a Twitter account run by the NSW Department of Primary Industries – advised that aerial contractors had spotted a “very large shark close to shore at Moruya. Unknown species at this stage”.
Moruya surf club closed Moruya Beach, while Broulee surf club sent a quad bike down to the North Head camping ground to warn any swimmers and surfers.
LIfesavers are in attendance at Moruya Beach and both clubs are remaining vigilant.
Elsewhere, a shark was spotted off Port Kembla Beach for a second day in a row.
The Australian Aerial Patrol conducted a flyover of both areas and was due back at their Albion Park base with a report on Sunday afternoon.
Saturday, 11.30am: Port Kembla Beach was closed for a short time on Saturday morning due to a shark sighting.
A member of the public is believed to have sounded the alarm after spotting a 2m shark about 30m from shore.
Surf lifesavers reopened the beach after the Australian Aerial Patrol sighted the shark from the air and found it posed no threat to swimmers.
Fairy Meadow, North Wollongong and City Beaches were reopened after two shark sightings on Friday morning.

A beach-goer raised the alarm about 9am after spotting a shark off City Beach.
Another sighting was reported 30 minutes later, off North Beach.
Wollongong City Council lifeguards have deployed a jet ski to investigate.
City Beach, North Beach and Fairy Meadow Beach are closed in the meantime.
