THE Nowra-Bomaderry Jets got their season off to a flying start, defeating the Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs 24-12 at Bill Andriske Oval on Saturday.

The Jets went into the game full of confidence and Milton-Ulladulla are basically a new side, possessing plenty of talent which will improve as the season progresses.
Nowra opened the scoring in the third minute when Dwayne Connors crossed, as Mark Brandon failed to convert.
Milton tried hard to reply with Sean Lynch, Greg Houghton and Ben Evans working hard.
Nowra were next to score, when Mark Brandon crossed, before again missing the conversion, as the Jets led by eight.
The hosts needed to score next but the Jets’ defence held firm.
Moore mishandled a kick which went back to Mark Brandon and the Dogs defence managed to hold him up over the line.
In the 26th minute, Milton were awarded a consecutive penalties which took them deep into Nowra-Bomaderry's half,.
The Dogs mounted another attack lead by Wells, Mackey and Hammond, as Tyler Clark was held up over the line.
The Jets managed to retain possession for several sets and a kick from half Geoffrey Johnson found Milton's Brett Hurley at fullback.
Hurley was tackled into touch, trying to return the kick.
This gave the visitors even more possession but a turnover and some judicial kicking by Wells saw Milton on the attack again.
In the dying minutes of the first half, hard working Tyler Clark was rewarded with a try with Moore converting.
Nowra went in at half-time leading 8-6.
Milton needed to score first in the second half but it was the Jet's Jamie Christopher who went in after 10 minutes.
Milton were having difficulty holding the ball and after only four minutes, Nowra-Bomaderry were over again, through Kieran Brandon.
The Jets were running away with it and in the 20 minutes left, Mark Brandon crossed for his second try and converted it, taking his tally for the game 12 points.
Late in the half Jesse Bradford, who was replacing the retired Adam Stone at hooker, was rewarded with a try with Moore converting to make the final score 24-12.
Milton's ball handling was their downfall and they found themselves chasing their tails on many occasions and many scoring opportunities went begging at the final pass.
Milton Ulladulla were always in the game and in the end were beaten by 2 converted tries.
New coach Morrison has plenty to work on and they will improve as time goes by.
The Jets were slick and will again be a major threat to the 2016 competition.
Best for the Jets were Michael Blattner, Kurt Quinlan and the three Brandon brothers, while for the hosts Evans, Wells and Battagliolo starred.
