There has been some spectacular sights in Jervis Bay over the past few days with the the Navy’s monster Landing Helicopter Dock ships HMAS Adelaide and Canberra calling into the Bay during exercises.

Todd Sweeney captured a great photograph of the Canberra Class Amphibious Assault Ships with Point Perpendicular in the background.
Along with a submarine, also photographed inside in JB, the ships have been conducting exercises off the coast.
The Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD), project will provide the Australian Defence Force with one of the most capable and sophisticated air-land-sea amphibious deployment systems in the world.
These 27,000 tonne ships will be able to land a force of over 1000 personnel by helicopter and watercraft, along with all their weapons, ammunition, vehicles and stores.
