The register will hold publicly available information on the traders most complained about to NSW Fair Trading.
“Consumers should have the right to know which traders have high numbers of complaints against them so they can take this into account when purchasing goods and services,” Kiama MP Gareth Ward said.
“Publishing the register will encourage poorly performing traders to improve their customer service and complaint handling procedures.
“Similarly it will show which of their competitors don’t appear on the list.”
Feedback will close on Friday, October 30.
