RECENTLY while I was with friends walking from Kiama to Gerringong about midday, I slipped on the mud on the track and "liberated" my knee cap.

The ambulance was called and due to the difficult "lift" to the roadway further help was needed.
Within a short time an SES team arrived along with two police officers. Subsequently I was admitted to Shellharbour Hospital.
Following an operation in Sydney on Monday, I am now on the way to recovery.
I must add that our walking group, including some medical people, all contributed to a final (if painful) conclusion.
My sincere thanks to the Ambos, SES, Police and of course the hospital staff.
I'll complete the walk ... not any time soon.
