For more than 50 years, the Arcos, as they are affectionately known, have been producing top-quality theatre for the people of the Illawarra. They have staged some hilarious productions to date and this one is no different.
The Arcadians' Addams Family features an original story - and it's every father's nightmare.
Wednesday Addams, the original Princess of Darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet young man from a respectable family - and her parents have never met him.
If that isn't upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother.
Now, Gomez Addams must do the unthinkable: keep a secret from his beloved wife Morticia.
Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they hold a dinner for Wednesday's "normal" boyfriend and his parents - and the outrageous and absurd ensue.
Colin Coakes has the enviable job of playing the lovable, if not challenging role, of Uncle Fester.
"Fester is just such a great role to play," Coakes said.
"All through the show he belts out some cracking one-liners and jokes ... but the real role with the whiplash tongue is Granny [Liz Geraghty] and trust me you had better brace yourself for her hysterical scene-stealers. She is just wicked."
The Addams Family opens on Friday, July 31, and runs until, August 15, with shows starting at 8pm and matinee performances at 2pm on August 1, 8, 9, and 15.
The Arcadians Miner's Lamp Theatre is located at 141 Princes Hwy Corrimal.
