In a match important to both teams' semi-final prospects, with both locked in fifth-equal spot, the Gorillas managed to hold out the desperate Superoos.
The Gorillas were on the board in just the second minute, when a towering Josh Kent bomb bounced off the shoulder of a team-mate and straight to Nick Nikittaras who claimed the try.
The Superoos didn't take long to reply, when rampaging prop Steve Bouchard showed plenty of determination to beat two Warilla defenders to score beside the posts.
Josh Brigham converted to tie the scores at 6-all.
Play went from one end of the field to the other before the home side grabbed a surprise lead in the 20th minute when classy hooker James Asquith split the defence from dummy-half and found his twin brother Mark looming up on the inside to cross under the posts.
The lead was short-lived, however, when Gorillas skipper Aaron Henry used his size and agility to cross beside the posts and Chad Lisch tied the scores again.
Jamberoo were causing the Warilla defence plenty of problems and they were on the attack again just before half-time, when they turned the ball over and hooker Ben Cotter scooped it up and sent speedster Nathan Gallestegui on a 70-metre sprint to score in the corner. Lisch converted from the sideline to give his side an 18-12 lead at the break.
Both sides knew the importance of the final result and it was Jamberoo who struck first in the second half, when Mark Asquith broke free of two would-be defenders, crossing out wide to close the gap to two.
The footballing gods shone on the Gorillas shortly afterwards when another Kent bomb near the Jamberoo line resulted in both the Jamberoo winger and fullback slipping over in the heavy conditions.
The ball was toed through and replacement hooker Dane Corran dived over.
Lisch's conversion gave the visitors breathing space with a 24-16 lead.
But, just when it looked like they had control of the game, Jamberoo rallied again and Mark Asquith completed an impressive hat-trick when he powered over out wide.
Brigham landed an excellent conversion to again close the gap to two.
However, it was as close as the Jamberoo side was to get as, with 14 minutes remaining, winger Jay Knick finished off a strong backline movement to cross in the corner and, although Lisch missed the conversion, the visitors managed to do enough to claim the valuable two competition points.
Both Saturday games were one-sided affairs with Shellharbour City Sharks too good for Berry Magpies 40-0 at Ron Costello Oval, while Kiama Knights had way too many guns for Port Kembla and notched a 70-0 win at Kiama Showground.
On Sunday, Nowra-Bomaderry Jets made it six wins in a row with a 34-18 victory over Albion Park-Oak Flats.
Gerringong Lions, after trailing 16-12 at half-time, came back with a roar to beat Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs 48-22 at Mollymook.
