Mr McKinnon’s service to the Shoalhaven began in the 1970s.
He was president of the Tomerong P&C Association from 1970-1975 and vice president from 1977-1980.
As a volunteer firefighter he was also the treasurer of the Tomerong Bush Fire Brigade from 1970-1979.
As a former resident of Falls Creek he became a life member of the Falls Creek Public School P&C Association.
Mr McKinnon played an active role in the Tomerong School of Arts as vice president from 1962-1965 and treasurer from 1967-1977 and had been a member from 1950-1980.
He joined the Probus Club of Jervis Bay in 1997 where he performed various roles including vice president. He was a life member since 2009 and a foundation member, since 1982.
with the Nowra Show Society Mr McKinnon was vice president in 1994 and a
woodchop Steward for almost 30 years.
