Presented by the Kiama Art Society, the primary school art exhibition will run from May 26-28 at Kiama Leagues Club.
Elizabeth Nowlan from the Kiama Art Society co-ordinates the annual exhibition.
It will feature works by students from Kiama, Jamberoo, Minnamurra and Gerringong public schools, as well as Ss Peter & Paul.
"We decided to do portraits, because coming up is the Archibald Prize in Sydney, so we thought we'd reflect that," she said.
Catherine O'Leary teaches children's art at The Old Coach House Gallery in Kiama, and has been working with students who will be showcasing their creativity at the exhibition.
She said the "Little Archies" theme was proving popular with the youngsters.
"They're going well, mostly doing self-portraits," she said.
"The kids I teach, I gave them a mirror and get them to do a self-portrait, then used foam blocks to make a print.
"The kids love it, they're having a great time."
The winners will be chosen by art teachers from throughout the area.
