Kiama produced a dominant performance to beat struggling Coniston 3-0 on a fantastic day for the club.
Kiama created numerous chances in the first half before Keegan Beringer opened the scoring shortly before half-time. Beringer controlled a glorious Todd Wade through ball, held off his marker while dribbling towards goal, and finished expertly across the goalkeeper and inside the far post.
Kiama were also dangerous after the break and extended their lead through Daniel Swinton. An incisive James Gulloni pass found the speedy striker, who held off a Coniston defender and stabbed the ball home with his right foot in front of a group of raucous home supporters.
Dean Land scored his second goal of the season late in the match to make it 3-0. Land finished coolly after the Coniston goalkeeper saved burly forward Jay Horobin's shot.
Kiama's defence, led by player-coach James Spence, with Brendan Apperley, Chris Hill and Daniel Gillespie, remained resolute throughout. Rookie goalkeeper Dylan McDonald produced a mature performance that helped Kiama to its first clean sheet this season.
It was an exceptional day for the Quarriers. Earlier, the Youth Grade side won 3-1 and Reserve Grade won 4-2. Josh Keatley, Bryeson Lloyd and Jacob Lester scored for the young Quarriers, and the Reserves produced a stirring comeback after being 2-0 down at half-time.
Daniel Sigmund and Jay Horobin scored one each and Mitch O'Neill got a double that included a fierce, long-range strike to complete the comeback and propel the Reserves to their third win of the season.
