The two-day event comes alive with a variety of unique events not seen in the Illawarra at any other time of the year.
The ever popular Dragon Boat Challenge will be held Saturday, March 7 at Skiway Park, The Esplanade, Oak Flats from 9am.
Twenty-seven teams from businesses, community organisations and schools will race over 200 metres.
Spectators are encouraged to support the teams and cheer them on. It is a spectacular sport to watch with 20 paddlers two-abreast, a drummer in the bow beating time and a sweep in the stern steering the boat.
The dragon boat is about 12 metres long with a dragon's head on the front and a tail on the back.
On Sunday morning the focus switches to the Shell Cove Walk or Run for Fun.
This 5km walk or run or 9km run starts and finishes from the main park/Freya Court reserve on Cove Boulevard and meanders through some of the most scenic reserves at Shell Cove. It is open to all people, young or old and parents with prams are also catered for.
Early Bird entry is available prior to the day at $10 for adults and $5 for children under 18; with a family of four, two adults and two children, $25.
Registration on the day is from 8am with the event starting at 9am.
Entry on the day is $15 for adults, children $10 and families $35.
There are prizes, and proceeds for the Walk or Run go to the Cancer Council and to the Shellharbour Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
