From Friday, November 7 through to November 22 one of the most-loved family musicals of all time will feature the rags-to-riches story inspired by the comic, Little Orphan Annie.
The heart-warming musical is a story of plucky young Annie's journey from the hard-knock New York orphanage to the luxurious home of billionaire businessman Oliver Warbucks.
The show boasts one of Broadway's most memorable scores, including It's the Hard Knock Life, Easy Street and the legendary Tomorrow, as well as a funny script.
The cast and crew of Roo Theatre's production have been in rehearsals for the past 12 weeks to bring the story to life, working hard on singing, acting, and dancing.
With a cast of 65, ranging in age from seven right through to over 70, and a dog named Carly in the role of Sandy, the creative team have worked around the clock to ensure audiences are entertained.
The production is directed by Roo Theatre founder Gordon Streek, and choreographed by Jess Soden and Makayla Stubbs, with musical direction provided by Katie Morgan.
Mr Streek said he felt it was important that children were regularly exposed to the arts, which was why the theatre produced a big family show each year.
"Annie is a show for all ages, and knowing that different generations get to experience this production is what community theatre is all about," he said.
"One day, these avid theatre goers may perform themselves, and that is what the Roo is here for, and makes me certain that the sun really will come out tomorrow."
Annie will feature Madison Ballard and Holly Severn in the title role, Josif Jovanovski as Oliver Warbucks and Lisa Claridge as Miss Hannigan.
The cast also features Nella Magnante as Grace, Tim Collins as Rooster Hannigan and Makayla Stubbs as Lily St. Regis.
