Recent reports claimed the Raiders were preparing to table a massive offer for Hoffman, which intensified early this month when the fullback was granted permission by Brisbane to speak with other clubs.

With Anthony Milford joining the Broncos next year, Hoffman had been named as a potential fullback replacement, but Stuart said they have made no contact with the 26-year-old, or his management.

"I respect the guy's talent, but we've got other options we're chasing at the moment and we have not made any form of contact, or put a deal in for Josh," Stuart said.

"Contrary to all the reports we have not made an offer to Josh Hoffman, he's a great young player but we've got other options we're pursuing first."

One of those options is disgruntled Manly fullback Brett Stewart, who has been linked to interest from the Raiders and reportedly requested a release from the final year of his Sea Eagles contract in July.

Stuart has just returned from an overseas holiday, and plans to meet with Raiders chief executive Don Furner to discuss their plan of attack.

Wests Tigers utility Blake Austin sought a release from the final year of his contract to join Canberra next year when Mick Potter was in charge.

New Tigers coach Jason Taylor confirmed on Sunday he is yet to speak with the 23-year-old on whether he is a required player going forward.

Fairfax Media revealed on Sunday that Austin had been removed from a team photo used by the Tigers on the front of its membership brochure, which was released this week.

Canberra is quietly confident a number of other players may potentially come on the open market as rival clubs battle salary cap problems.
