Youths caught stealing from car
Two youths were chased by a witness at Linum Place, in Barrack Heights over the weekend for stealing from a car. At 5pm on Sunday, June 22 the owner of the vehicle was unloading goods from their boot at their home, when a witness walking past saw two male offenders reach into the car and take the keys. The two offenders ran away and the witness managed to chase them and recover the keys. The witness has descried the offenders as two Caucasian males, about 17 years of age. Motorbike stolen
A Yamaha dirt-bike, worth $3000, was stolen from a residential garage in Albion Park Rail yesterday (Tuesday, June 24). Between the hours of 8.45am and 10.50 am on Tuesday, a person broke into a garage and stole the motorbike. Police have not yet recovered the bike.
Break and enter Albion Park Rail
Police were called to an Albion Park Rail property for an attempted theft in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Between 11.30pm on Monday, June 23 and 8am on Tuesday, June 24, there was a break and enter into a garden shed at the rear of a property on Palmae Place, Albion Park Rail. Nothing was stolen but police believe the offender/s were attempting to steal a motor bike. The motorbike was secured and the offender/s were unable to remove the bike. Firearms surrended Kiama
On Friday, June 20, a Kiama Downs resident attended Lake Illawarra police station to hand in firearms discovered among his deceased father’s estate The weapons were a an Anschutz Rifle 1400 model .22 Calibre, a Voere Rifle model 2007 .22 Calibre and a Baikal single barrel shotgun model T10536. The unconditional surrender of the firearms ensures they will be disposed of properly.
Gas metre stolen
A gas metre was stolen from a project home at Shell Cove last week. The gas metre worth $250 was stolen from the front of a project home under construction on Windjammer Crescent, Shell Cove. Police reported that the crime happened between midnight Thursday, June 12 and Tuesday, June 17. Investigations are continuing. Call Crime Stoppers if you have any information on 1800 333 000.
Man to face court on stealing matters
A 22-year-old Albion park man has been refused bail for stealing. The man faced Wollongong Court yesterday (Tuesday, June 24) after being charged with one count of stealing from a person and three counts of stealing from a retail store. The man was arrested on the June 21 after stealing a bag from a bus and fleeing. Police had been called and tracked the accused to premises in Ash Ave, Albion Park Rail.
Shellharbour man on multiple domestic violence charges
A 35-year-old Shellharbour man has been charged with multiple domestic violence-related offences. About 10am on Monday, the man attended the Lake Illawarra police station. He was interviewed and subsequently charged. He was granted conditional bail and will face court in July.
NBN Crew may have disturbed break and enter, Kiama Heights
About 8,30am on Tuesday, June 17 NBN Co installation personal attended Kalang Road Kiama Heights. They noticed the side gate to a residential property was damaged and the front door was wide open. A solid framed metal door restricted access into the front of the house. Due to the front door being set back from the screen, closing it was impossible. NBN staff checked the house and notified the occupants next door. The neighbour called police and they attended and conducted an inspection of the house to ensure it was now secure. Police attempted to locate an owner but were unsuccessful and details were left at the home and with the neighbours.
