GERRINGONG Public School's netball team took part in the Netball NSW Schools Cup Regional Day - South Coast, held in Queanbeyan last week.

Ten eager year 6 students left the school with high hopes and faced two-degree temperatures.
Brianna Cairns, Carla O'Meley, Bethany Chapman, Chloe Egan, Kailee Hazelwood, Sienna Thomson, Lilli Williams, Danni Cook, Ella Patterson and Marley Smith took on the challenge of four games, a semi-final and a final.
They played Bombala Public School in round one and won 20-10, before accounting for Stella Maris Catholic Primary School 11-10, Broulee Public School 16-8 and Bowral Public School 17-13 in the qualifying rounds.
They then met Queanbeyan Public School in the semi-final and won 17-15. In the final they played a great game against Illaroo Road Public School from Nowra and won their sixth game 16-12 to become the winners of the year 5-6 competition and be crowned South Coast Regional champions.
They will now represent the region at state level in Sydney on September 16.
