Midweek windfall welcome

CRAIG Davis put down the tools of his trade and escaped for some R & R on Gerringong Golf Course last week.

Besides appreciating the ambience of the course, Craig went home $50 richer after he won the club's Tuesday midweek comp with 34 points.

Don Hughes is always competitive, but on this occasion had to be content with the runner's-up prize of $30 after carding 33 points.

S. Westaway from Nowra didn't go home empty handed since he won a ball for his 32 points.

Nearest to Pins: 8th D. Hughes, 9th Drive & Pitch D. Hughes, 14th J. Lane (Kiama).

The 12-hole Chook Run is another regular event to break up the week.

Roy Moynihan is a new name to readers, but all will likely become more familiar with him as time goes by.

He won this event with 25 points.

Ron Davison's 22 points was good enough to secure the runner-up spot.

Balls went to Jan Goddard (21 points) and Craig Kennedy (21).

The ladies are excited about their forthcoming Club Championships which start this Thursday, with the second round of play scheduled for the following Monday.

All the best over the three rounds.
