Cameron White takes top Victorian cricket awards

The Bushrangers batsman was a run-away winner in both categories, having struck 10 half-centuries and one century across the Shield and one-day competitions.

The Bushrangers right-hander, who was also named the player of the one-day series, notched 387 runs, at an average of 77.4 and struck five fifties in six innings.

He narrowly missed becoming the first person in the tournament's history to post six consecutive half-centuries when he was dismissed for 42 in the elimination final.

He enjoyed his best Shield season since 2007-08 striking 675 runs, at an average of 45, in his eight matches.

In other awards, Sarah Elliott was named Victoria’s most outstanding Women's National Cricket League player. The VicSpirit veteran was the side’s most consistent batter during the 2013-14 season, holding together the middle order.

In her 14th season with the VicSpirit, Elliott posted three consecutive half-centuries and finished the season with 243 runs, at an average of 40.50.

Elyse Villani won her second consecutive award for the best Women's Twenty20 player. The opener was the leading run scorer in the competition and struck six half-centuries, double more than any other player. She amassed 498 runs, at an average of 49.80 and a strike rate approaching 120.

Aaron Finch was the Melbourne Renegades’ player of the season for the third time after compiling a club-high 262 runs at an average of 52.4 in the Big Bash League.

Luke Wright was the Melbourne Stars’ best player amassing 288 runs at a strike rate of 144.72, including two half centuries.
