Ms Watson praised the volunteers who put countless hours into community organisations and sporting clubs. She said the grants were a helping hand.
"The program aims to help non-profit community groups build community infrastructure," Ms Watson said. "We aim to support local jobs but to also support local businesses.
"If it were not for the Community Partnerships program, clubs would be spending far more time trying to raise funds to get the projects off the ground.
"Unfortunately I only have $300,000 to allocate and I'm absolutely delighted to support the 10 projects that have received funding here today.
"I tried to ensure that many local suburbs were included in the funding."
Josif Jovanovski, artistic director of The Roo Theatre Company, was delighted.
"The $50,000 will go to new seating . . . we are so grateful and thankful."
Warilla Wanderers Junior Soccer Club was granted $49,000 for new lights at Morley Park in Warilla; Dapto Little Athletics $19,150 for a new public address system; Illawarra Area Child Care $9090 to upgrade flooring; Oak Flats Falcons Football Club received $62,000 for lighting at Keith Bond Oval; Shellharbour City Council received $6800 for a shade shelter at Beverley Whitfield Oval; Shellharbour Junior Soccer Club $65,000 for ground improvements; Wollongong City Council $37,950 to replace the floor in the Koonawarra Community Centre and Koonawarra Sailing Club received $13,090 for a sewerage upgrade.
