BATEMANS BAY: A redevelopment project of the Batemans Bay Marina has been given the green light, with construction to begin on November 1. The project has been in the pipeline for the past eight years.

BATEMANS BAY: Hundreds of bikes will roll in to the Eurobodalla next month when Discovery Rides comes to town. Pictured is Kate Huxley, who is excited the shire will be showcased as a cycling destination.
COOMA: The township of Berridale, between Cooma and the Snowy Mountains, celebrated its 150th birthday with a monster spring fair organised by the Lions Club. Lady members of the tennis club, which started in 1921, joined in with enthusiasm – they are Robyn Reid, Pat McPhie, Fay Smits, Mary Obermaier, Marney Coomber and Margie Wade.
JINDABYNE: Janneane Cahill of Jindabyne was surprised and delighted to find that her portrait of a Holstein dairy cow (formerly known as a Friesian) titled ‘Hay Please’ had already been sold when the Briscoe Memorial Art Award exhibition opened at Cooma’s Raglan Gallery.

NAROOMA: Narooma locals Sonia Lloyd and Dean Heycox were stoked to score tickets for Sunday’s Narooma Blues Fest and are pictured as the sun sets on the festival on the first day of daylight saving on Sunday.
BEGA: Student chefs from the Bega campus prepared for the TAFE NSW Culinary Competition this week.
NAROOMA: The Great Southern Blues Festival at Narooma attracts blues fans of all ages including this young fun of unknown origin watching Ash Grunwald on Sunday. Earmuffs were indeed the order of the day with many kids sporting the ear protection.
NAROOMA: Burned out and not a good look in the lead up to the Narooma Blues Festival was the Landcruiser stolen in Bermagui and found torched on Bill Smyth Oval, Narooma less than two hours later.
BEGA: Members of the Bega Men's Shed committee happily submitted a DA for an actual shed this week, four years after the group's incorporation.
TILBA: At the inaugural South Coast Knife Show at Central Tilba on Sunday, South Coast Hunters Club president Dan Field judged the best hunting knife to be made by Kevin Slattery from the ACT.
MERIMBULA: Merimbula students from the Bega campus of TAFE Illawarra went Sydney to compete in the TAFE NSW Culinary Competition. The team includes apprentices Zoe Crosbie, from Merimbula Aquarium and Wharf, Laura Kite, from the Waterfront Café, Lachlan McNeil, from Zanzibar, and Andrew Mitchell from Wheelers Restaurant.
NAROOMA: Taking ownership and encouraging other skate park users to do so too are Sam Nugent, Tyron Zammit and Zak Cowley-Hilton. Council has $150,000 for the park’s expansion.
TURA BEACH: Gardeners in Tura Beach have been snapping their favourite patches and Wendy Brown caught this cheeky parrot enjoying a sweet snack.
NAROOMA: What an epic weekend at the Narooma Blues Festival for Chef Michael Stokes and his crew from Michaels at Dalmeny, who were flat out all weekend serving 140 litres of seafood chowder, 200kg of squid and 40 legs of lamb and by Sunday they were absolutely exhausted.

BEGA: HSC students went into lockdown this week as the Bega library hosted an after hours study session, with pizza for those who lasted the distance.
TATHRA: A 19yo Bega man drowned after being swept out to sea while swimming with a group of mates at the Bega River mouth.
MERIMBULA: Spectrum Theatre Group entertained visitors and locals during Merimbula’s Crazy Day sale on Thursday, October 3, with songs from their next production, The Sound of Music.
BEGA: Much to locals' pleasure, with the arrival of the hot weather this week came the official opening of the Bega Pool, slightly delayed due to upgrades and a new coat of paint.
