The latest AFLW fixture has been released, with all Victorian sides to remain in their home state to avoid any border issues.

With Western Australia currently requiring visitors from Victoria to quarantine for 14 days, West Coast and Fremantle have been scheduled to go head to head next Sunday - just four weeks after their round-two battle.

The AFLW did not want any double-ups this season, but border complications have forced their hand.

Fremantle won the round-two derby by nine points in driving rain, taking their overall tally against West Coast to 2-0 after winning the sole western derby last year.

The Eagles are winless this season and battling a huge injury crisis.

"While relocation of teams was strongly considered, through close and continued consultation and feedback from players, the AFLPA and clubs, the decision to proceed with a return match was deemed to be the best option for the competition at this stage of the season," AFL general manager of women's football Nicole Livingstone said.

The AFLW western derby will be followed by West Coast and Fremantle also locking horns in a men's AFL pre-season match.

The blockbuster AFLW fixture of round six will be Collingwood's clash with the Bulldogs on Sunday March 7.

The Magpies currently sit third on the ladder, while the Bulldogs are fourth.

GWS will host ladder-leaders Brisbane in Canberra, while Richmond and North Melbourne will face off on Friday.
