High hopes of a new era under coach Justin Holbrook were quickly dampened as the Titans slumped to heavy defeats to Canberra and Parramatta before the COVID-19 crisis halted the season.

With just over a week until the Titans get back on the field against North Queensland in Townsville, Wallace says the unanticipated break had been a good chance for he and his teammates to make sure they start better the second time around.

"We've had a real opportunity to go back to the drawing board," Wallace said.

"I know the coaches did a lot of review of those last two games so we get to do what we could do better and fix, because let's be honest, we weren't up to scratch in those first two games.

"Our boys have come back really fit and ready so that just showed how eager they were to fix those wrongs that we had in the first two games."

The Titans had an early win earlier this week when young forward Moeaki Fotuaika successfully fought a a dangerous contact charge.

Fotuaika was facing a one-game ban for a shot on Mitchell Moses in the loss to the Eels but will be free to face the Cowboys next week.

Wallace said the news was a huge boost for the Titans and tipped the 20-year-old for a big season after winning the club's player of the year award in 2019 despite ongoing knee and wrist injuries which required surgery in the off-season.

"He's dropped a couple of kilos too," Wallace said.

"He's a lot fitter, a lot faster but he's just as strong as he was before he lost a couple of kilos.

"He's looking good, feeling a hundred per cent. I reckon he's going to be a player to watch out for. Hopefully we can get him firing on all cylinders like he was last year."
