Essential Services
In the interest of the most vulnerable in our community, Blue Haven Bonaira Residential Aged Care Home is now closed to all visitors but we are still delivering the same high standard of care to our residents.
Blue Haven's services to the community and visits at home continue.
Customer service staff are taking calls, answering Facebook messages and emails, and our online services continue: www.kiama.nsw.gov.au.
Planning staff are managing development applications.
Our finance staff are ensuring our suppliers continue to get paid.
Committee meetings are shifting online, as with our council meetings, including public access.
Waste services team are collecting your bins, and you can make use of our Minnamurra recycling facility.
Public toilets are being cleaned, and maintenance work continues.
Other Services
Library staff are taking enquiries via email and phone, and our Home Library service is operating. We've extended our loans period to eight weeks for physical items. Click and Collect is available as a restricted service through our Kiama branch.
The Visitor Information Centre team is busy updating people on what's open and what's not. Destination Kiama is supporting their members as they deal with the impact on their business.
SENTRAL Youth Services is providing counselling over the phone. They will soon move online for counselling and other services.
Leisure Centre staff are also exploring this option.
Our Staff
We have dispersed staff across multiple locations and rolled out our working from home program.
I want to thank staff for what has been a massive logistical operation.
I have always been proud of this organisation, but no more so than this week.
We still have a long road ahead of us, so I do ask for your patience.
Direction and Enforcement
NSW Health should be your first port-of-call: www.health.nsw.gov.au
If you are concerned about public gatherings etc, please contact NSW Police.
From everyone at council, I want to pass on our best wishes to our community.
