Nowra Airport saw gusts of wind at about 90kph and 50mm of rain between 8:00pm and 9:00pm on Tuesday, and there were reports of large hail to the north and west of Kiama.
It is not known how many lightning strikes hit the Kiama region, but Sydney recorded more than 70,000 during the event.
If you missed the lightning storm that swept in from the Southern Highlands and raged from 8pm to 10pm in areas, never fear.
Kiama SES volunteer Chris O'Byrne took incredible shots of the action.
The NSW SES received 47 jobs across the Illawarra, Southern Highlands and South Coast from 7pm on Tuesday.
