On Saturday, March 7, Kiama author Helen Lear will launch her debut children's book, titled 'Frankie Pants & Mr Fox'.
The free event, held at Kiama Library from 10am-12pm, will include the first public reading of the story, book signings, superhero craft and morning tea.
One dollar from the sale of each book on the day will go to WIRES wildlife rescue.
'Frankie Pants & Mr Fox' is the tale of lazy neighbourhood feline, Frankie.
At the stroke of midnight he transforms into Frankie Pants, a modern-day hero who sets out to save the neighbourhood from the dastardly devious Mr Fox.
"The idea for Frankie Pants came about when our beloved family cat, Frankie, sadly passed away," Ms Lear said.
"I wanted to find a way to keep his colourful character alive in a fun, action-led book with a positive message."
The book is illustrated by Katya Swan, a children's illustrator and graphic designer currently living in Dublin, Ireland.
