The company founded by a Kiama Downs paramedic and an engineer invented a safety product that secures extension ladders for safe use.
David Kay conceived the idea in 2001 after witnessing the devastating effects of wobbly extension ladders.
And with the help of his engineer friend Daniel Seidel they set about designing and making a prototype of the Lacket which won the SafeWork NSW award for the best solution for a small business safety issue in 2017.
The Lacket sits underneath the fascia and is jammed in place in a similar way a chair can be jammed under a door handle.
There is no physical way for the ladder to fall backwards or sideways.
The innovative product not only improves safety but secures the top end of a ladder while the user is still on the ground.
