The mens and womens sides turned out for the final event of the season alongside supporters, sponsors, coaches and members of the club.
"It's always a great way to wrap up the season and show our appreciation for the club's hard-working volunteers as well as acknowledging players for their performance during the year" said women's coach Glenn Haworth.
First-year player Kelsey Wishart took out the Players Player Award and the Best and Fairest Award, following her being awarded the Rising Star Award for the AFL South Coast Competition just a few weeks ago.
Wishart recalled her first few games of the season.
"I had no idea what the rules were, it was more so I could just play a new sport with my friends," she said.
"But once I learned the rules I really fell in love with the game because it's like nothing I've ever played before. I really love the physical aspect of it like tackling and shepherding."
Women's AFL on the South Coast is in its second season and has two grades, premier division and first grade. Kiama's Women's team finished in the top 4 for the season this year in the premier division and competed well in the finals.
"Myself and the club are incredibly proud of the effort our womens players put in this year," Haworth said.
"It's been amazing watching their skills develop and the quality of footy they are playing now compared to when the team first started last year.
"We had 36 female players register this season and are aiming to build on those numbers during the upcoming pre-season with the goal of having two women's teams going into next year."
Joining Wishart on the awards podium was Sharna Dobson (Coaches Award), Tennille Shelley (Best in Finals), Brianna Dalgleish (Highest Goal Scorer), Claire Farquhar (B and F Runner Up) and Emily O'Keefe (Most Improved).
Wishart, Farquhar, Dalgleish and Nellie Hicks (not pictured) also made the AFL South Coast Team of the Year with Cassie O'Leary (not pictured) and Hicks competing in the South Coast's first ever female representative side earlier this year.
With the DA for Kiama's new clubhouse being recently approved, Kiama Power will now focus on raising funds for the new building which will see the club have separate changerooms for female and male players as well as a large balcony for supporters to watch the games.
"It's an exciting time for the club at the moment with numbers across all grades growing as well as a new clubhouse to look forward to in the near future" Haworth said.
For players interested in playing AFL for Kiama Power, pre-season training is due to start in December with anyone and everyone encouraged to attend no matter your age or skill level. More information can also be found at kiamapowerafl.com.
