Rural Fire Service clean up large oil spill southbound on Kiama bends

There has been a 120-meter oil spill on the Princes Highway along the Kiama bends.

One southbound lane, just south of the main truck stop, had been closed to clean up the spill.

A Gerringong pumper and the Dunmore Rural Fire Brigade were called to the scene and spent the morning cleaning up the spill.

Unfortunately, their hard efforts were delayed because of unsafe drivers along the highway.

Police had to be called to the scene for traffic management.

Gerringong Rural Fire Service reminds drivers to please slow down to 40km/h around stationary emergency service vehicles and their crew (when red and blue lights are flashing).

The Gerringong pumper and crew have now returned to the station.
