Organisers say The Rubens Gerringong show on Saturday, August 17 was a cracker - and hopefully a sign of things to come for the local music scene.

Attracting big acts to the region can be difficult, according to Simon Felice, of Crooked River Winery. He was ecstatic to discover The Rubens are passionate about supporting small venues - even better, their Saturday show went off without a hitch.
"We were quite nervous, hoping everything went to plan," Mr Felice said.
"We put so many hours in, and we were over the moon that it all paid off. The crowd was electric, and the band said they want to come back. To have them say we delivered is awesome."
Mr Felice said the show sold out in ten days, and that sends a message to other big acts about the appetite for live music in the area.
The band themselves were characteristically humble, joining the back of the line to get in to their own gig.
The Rubens will continue on their tour of regional Australia over the coming weeks.
But music lovers need not be disappointed - the Kiama Folk Festival and A Day on the Hill aren't far away.
