ABBA tribute band, FABBA, will perform at the Kiama Leagues Club this Saturday, August 24.
And they do mean to perform. Although FABBA started as a tribute band, the show has evolved into a performance that is part musical, part theater, and all fabulous.
"It's like going out with a bunch of friends - we just bounce off each other and the audience," member Anthea said.
Anthea said the group loves interacting with the audience - and although they don't expect the Kiama show to resemble one of their previous performances in Papua New Guinea, where audience members stripped off to dance, they do encourage anyone who feels inspired to dress up to do so.
"They can enjoy the music they love, the show, and we do love the audience to get involved," she said.
"We start with a traditional ABBA look and feel, but by the end we've taken it to the modern style of Mamma Mia.
"With Mamma Mia and Muriel's Wedding, there's always inspiration."
