The Kiama Bodyboard King Pro pres. by Stojo will feature competition, oceanic events, coaching clinics, music and a farmers market all take place at Surf Beach and Coronation Park.

Association of Professional Bodyboarding (APB) CEO, Alex Leon expressed his excitement at seeing so many activities take place in and around the Kiama Bodyboard King Pro.

"The weekend of festivities will feature the AirAsia Air Show jetski assisted air show along with the Mike Stewart coaching clinic accompanied by food stalls, music and a vintage bodyboarding arena," he said.

The vintage arena will showcase the history of the sport through former world champions, bodyboards from the '70s and '80s and heritage heats with renowned Hawaiian bodyboarders Pat Caldwell, Mike Stewart, and Jeff Hubbard.

Kiama Municipal Council Mayor Mark Honey said he was thrilled the event had returned.

"We have the world's best bodyboarders back at Surf Beach, a great beach for bodyboarders, and for fans to watch the action at close range," he said.

"A lot of work has been done, and it's going to be another great tournament for the athletes, fans and our community."

Some of the world's best bodyboarders are gearing up to make their mark at the wide-open world title race.

Pierre Louis Costes (France) has a narrow lead on the APB World Tour rankings over Tristan Roberts (ZAF), Sammy Morretino (Haw) and Alan Munoz (Chile) with all four competitors preparing for the Kiama Bodyboard King Pro.

"There are over four world title contenders who can possibly grasp the 2019 APB World Title, which means there is a lot at stake when the Kiama Bodyboard King Pro gets underway," said Mr Leon.

"Hopefully the waves turn up and we get to see a huge action-packed event at Kiama."
