Kiama, the home of the Blowhole, presents vintage, classic and veteran motor vehicles for your family's enjoyment. Kiama is nestled in some of NSW's most spectacular scenery laid out between the mountains and the sea and of course the world-famous blowhole.
Visitors to the Kiama Auto Expo will be transported to a time when life was slower, and the families car was their pride and joy. On November 24 at Kiama's Showground, the Rotary Clubs of Gerringong and Kiama will host the annual Kiama Auto Expo, commencing at 9am and running through to 2:30pm.
The Kiama Showground will open at 7am to begin receiving around 300 motor vehicles needing exhibition space. Over 60 Rotarians will be on hand during the day to ensure all goes smoothly.
The gates to the public will open at 9am and anyone over 12 years of age will be asked for a $5.00 donation on entry; which will be used by the Rotary Clubs of Kiama and Gerringong in their local health care initiatives, e.g. Parkinson's Support; Youth Suicide Prevention and Melanoma Detection.
If you, a family member or friend own a vintage, classic and veteran motor vehicle or if you are a member of a Car Club phone Bob Waite (M: 0432 370 969) to let him know you're coming; so we can reserve you your space. Note: there will be no exhibiting fee for your motor vehicle.
KIAMA LIONS CLUB
While all three Lions clubs in the Kiama Municipality have a good number of members we must always be looking to the future for renewal and growth. Many new Lions are new residents to our area and find that by joining a service club they soon meet more established locals with a wide range of backgrounds, occupations and interests. Unlike in the early days of our Club we are finding that many of our new members are now at a stage where they are winding down their careers and are looking to utilise their skills and life experiences to serve their new community and establish meaningful relationships.
Those who are moving on from such service groups as surf lifesaving clubs and school P&Cs also find that they very comfortably fit into the service context of a Lions club. Kiama Lions also has a strong focus on social activities and our fortnightly meetings and wide range of service work do not become too onerous. If you are considering some new life directions and think that joining Lions might well fulfil these objectives, please contact our Membership Chairman, Lion Ivan Boulton (0405614278).
