Mr Williams' father died earlier this year of heart attack, while cheering on his boys at an Kiama-Figtree AFL match.
In honour of his father, Mr Williams rallied the team to turn a game into a fundraiser for Heart Research Australia.
There was a signed Sydney Swans guernsey up for grabs, with 100 per cent of the money raised going directly to Heart Research Australia.
Heart Research Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that supports world-class and emerging researchers to undertake ground-breaking research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.
The Kiama community rallied behind Mr Williams and the Kiama Power Australian Football Club.
All three teams had wins on the day, and raised a total of $6,329.52. The day was the first match between Kiama and Figtree since Darren Williams' death.
His family described Darren as a devoted father and backbone of the Kiama Power Australian Football Club.
After his shock passing, hundreds lined the streets to farewell the club legend who had such a positive impact on so many lives.
