Around 6.30am on Tuesday July 31, a man armed with a knife entered a liquor store on Blackwood Street, Gerringong.
The armed man threatened a 56-year-old female employee before stealing cash and fleeing the store. The woman was not physically injured.
Local police attended and established a crime scene before the State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad took over the investigation.
As part of ongoing inquiries, strike force investigators have released CCTV vision of a white utility and are appealing for public assistance.
The vision depicts the utility travelling on Fern Street, Gerringong, shortly before the armed robbery.
Detective Acting Superintendent Paul Smith from the State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad said the car was of key importance to the investigation.
"Due to its proximity at the time, we believe it is involved," he said.
"We would like to urge anyone that may have knowledge of the vehicle to come forward and contact police."
Acting Supt Smith said police believe two people were involved but the description of the offender who entered the store was limited.
"The man is described as being upwards of 175cm tall, of thin build and at the time was wearing dark clothing and facial coverings," he said.
Acting Supt Smith said it was possible that the offender fled on foot and the white utility picked him up.
He said it was not unusual for the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad to investigate this type of incident.
"We take an interest in all armed robberies that occur, especially ones that involve weapons and that cause victims harm or for them to be shaken," Acting Supt Smith said.
"We are certainly looking at the possibility this incident is linked with others but at this stage we are concentrating on the robbery at the liquor store.
"We have put a lot time, resources and effort into this investigation and it is not unusual that investigations take this length of time.
"We are making strong advancement in our investigations and we are confident this matter will result in an arrest at some point."
Anyone with information or dash cam footage of the vehicle or the incident is urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
