In Australia, a stroke occurs every 10 minutes, and affects people of all ages. The impacts last a lifetime.
Kiama Anglican Church is hosting stroke survivor and Stroke Foundation ambassador Noeleen Apps on Tuesday, July 30.
The 51-year-old had to learn to walk and talk again after a stroke three years ago, and still has no feeling down her right side.
Ms Apps will share her story and provide information about how to prevent stroke, how to recognise stroke, and what to do if someone is having one.
Ms Apps will make the presentation at 2pm at the Care Café, Kiama Anglican Church Church Point Centre, 2 Terralong St, Kiama.
Afternoon tea will be provided, and there will be time for questions.
A donation for the work of Care Café is appreciated.
For more details contact the Kiama Anglican Church Office on 4232 2066. Please RSVP for catering by Monday 29th July. All welcome.
