The moon, earth and sun are lining up for a partial lunar eclipse, visible if you have a good view of the horizon - and if Mother Nature plays nicely.
It's expected the moon will also give off a slight red tinge during the event.
The next total lunar eclipse visible from Australia will occur in the evening of 26 May 2021, according to the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences.
The next total solar eclipse will be viewable from the South Coast will be in July 2028.
