Hobart hospital bed funds in Tas budget

The Tasmanian government will spend $132 million on new beds and staff at Hobart's major hospital in the state budget.

The funding will result in 100 more beds opening at the Royal Hobart Hospital over the next four years, Health Minister Michael Ferguson said in a statement on Wednesday.

Treasurer Peter Gutwein will hand down the 2019/20 state budget on Thursday, which will include $1.6 billion for roads and bridges.
