Driverless car trialed at IRT facility to see how the technology can be applied to improve independence and quality of life for older people

Aged care and retirement village residents at one IRT facility are participating in an autonomous vehicle trial. Partly funded by Telstra Southern NSW & ACT, the trial of the driverless technology is taking place at Kangara Waters.

IRT's autonomous vehicle project looks at how the technology can be applied to improve independence and quality of life for older people.

IRT Group chie executive Patrick Reid said IRT Kangara Waters was Australia's first retirement village to experience the driverless technology during a one day demonstration in early 2018.
