With over $80,000 in prizes, the 18th annual Blowhole Big Fish Classic Tournament is set to draw a crowd.
It will be to be held on April 6 and 7, and based out of Kiama Harbour.
Organisers said, at this time of year, big Blue Marlin, Striped and Black Marlin, Mahi Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna, plus large Tiger sharks were all possible catches.
"Last year's event was won with a 142.5kg Blue Marlin, with several others much bigger lost in the course of the fight as Blue Marlin are the toughest of the Marlin species and provide a real challenge for anglers," organisers said.
"The minimum weight for Marlin in this event has been raised from NSW Game Fishing minimum weight 90 kg's to 100kg's, with anglers encouraged to Tag and Release those fish that will not go into the top three for prizes in that division."
Yatcon Civil have provided $10,000 cash prize for the heaviest Marlin.
The Tournament has 23 categories in both Capture and Tag and Release sections
All the social events including Tournament Briefing, Tournament Dinner and Presentation will be held at Kiama Leagues Club, who have been a sponsor of the Tournament since the Kiama Game Fishing Club started in 2001.
