Friends of Kiama library member Lyn Behan will be guest speaker of the Friends of Kiama Library on Saturday, April 6.
She will be speaking about her recently published historical romance "The Men and the Medium".
The book is inspired by Lyn's grandmother, and follows the life of Lily Bancroft, a spiritualist medium and healer, together with her three husbands.
The novel is set against the backdrop of two world wars.
Lily's tumultuous life follows the social and political transformation of post-Victorian England, and the turmoil of individual and family lives caught up in a whirlwind of social change.
Copies will be available for signature and sale at the talk.
Lyn grew up in post-war Britain.
She spent her working life in IT as a computer programmer and systems analyst, working in England, Ireland, Luxembourg, Germany and Australia.
In 2000 she took a year off work to build a mudbrick house with her partner on the Far South Coast.
However, a year wasn't long enough to make 9000 mudbricks and build a house - she got involved with the permaculture movement, and somehow never managed to get back to IT.
The talk will be held at 2.30pm in the Family History Centre. Entry will be by donation of $5 for members/$8 for guests. All are welcome and afternoon tea is provided.
